Indian Test leg-spinner Anil Kumble has turned down the opportunity to appear for his third English county

Indian Test leg-spinner Anil Kumble has turned down the opportunity to appear for his third English county. Warwickshire had been hoping to sign the 32 year-old with 349 Test wickets, and another 300 in one-day internationals, as their second overseas player for next season.
Kumble has appeared with notable success for Northamptonshire in 1995 when he took 105 first-class wickets. He appeared for Leicestershire in 2000. Warwickshire had offered him a one-year contract for the coming season to play alongside New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond.
Playing for India against Pakistan at New Delhi in 1998/99, Kumble took 10 for 74 to become only the second bowler in Test cricket, after Jim Laker for England against Australia at Old Trafford in 1956, to capture all ten wickets in a Test innings.
